Als die Philadelphia 76ers nach dem dritten Viertel der B-Five NBA Finals mit 106-81 in Führung lagen und die letzten 12 Minuten der Saison 2027 angepfiffen wurden, glaubten nur noch die wenigsten Zuschauer im Staples Center an die Sensation. Die Lakers hatten die ersten drei Spiele verloren und standen unmittelbar vor dem Sweep in den Finals. Ross Leverette, der alte und neue MVP der Gäste, sollte mit 62 Punkten am Ende mal wieder der alles überragende Spieler werden. Die dritte Meisterschaft der 76ers in Folge und gleichzeitig die dritte für ihren Superstar. Für einen Spieler jedoch sollte dieser Abend den vierten Titel seiner Karriere bringen. Eine Karriere, die mit diesem Spiel zu Ende gehen sollte und wohl kaum ein besseres Ende hätte haben können. JC Nuno der Center der 76ers beendete nach einer weiteren überragenden Saison an der Seite von Leverette, Halsdorf und co. seine Laufbahn als aktiver Profi.
